Dubai Municipality has unveiled a new online system to help consumers identify fake health and beauty products. The new initiative, unveiled by the Dubai Municipality yesterday, is a smart, integrated system called Montaji, designed for recording, managing and monitoring consumed products.
All consumer safety products sold in Dubai, such as health supplements, cosmetic and personal care products, perfumes, detergents, soaps, packaging materials and biocides such as antibacterial products, must be registered with the “Montaji” system, said Naseem Mohammed Rafee, head of the Consumer Product Safety Section. So if consumers have any doubt about the authenticity of their products, they can check it on the Montaji system. All they have to do is enter the barcode or name of the product, verify all the details, then Montaji gets to work.
Consumers can report violations through the municipality’s call centre 800900.
