The Jashanmal Group is a pioneering retail and distribution conglomerate founded in 1919 by Rao Sahib Jashanmal Jhangiani, when he opened a general-store in Basra, Iraq. Over the decades it expanded throughout the Gulf region—entering Kuwait in 1934, Bahrain in 1935, and establishing its first UAE store in 1956—eventually evolving into a multi-channel business headquartered in Dubai with operations in the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, India and more. Today, it operates over 150 stores under multiple retail formats and serves a vast distribution network of more than 1,000 points of sale,  supplying everything from travel goods and home-appliances to fashion, books and electronics.
