UNESCO has recognized Thrissur Pooram as a particularly impressive festival, highlighting its scale and grandeur. Inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Thrissur, a group of individuals from the UAE came together to establish Mmde Thrissur in 2018.  

Thrissur pooram “Mother of all Poorams,” one of the largest festivals in Asia, is renowned for its spectacular festival that exemplifies the fusion of art, culture, and spirituality. This vibrant celebration features a magnificent procession of beautifully caparisoned elephants, accompanied by the captivating rhythms of traditional percussion orchestra such as melam and panchavadyam.

‘Mmde Thrissur‘ made history by bringing the grandeur of Thrissur Pooram to Dubai for the first time. This extraordinary event was launched on April 26th 2019 at Bollywood Parks Dubai, ensuring an exceptional experience..

Day 2 (16/11/2025) 

Kodiyettam: Flag hoisting ceremony on the traditional golden flag post marking the beginning of 14+ hours of Pooram

Keli: Immerse in a traditional percussion of Chenda, Madhalam & Thalam

Kuzhal Pattu: . Kuzhal pattu is a prelude to panchari Melam featuring kuzhal, a double reed wind instrument

Kombu pattu: Another traditional wind instrument performance showcasing the breathe holding capacity of the artist

Panchari Melam: Panchari Melam, is one of the major forms of Chenda Melam will be performed by percussion legend Shethra Kalakulapathi Kalacharya Therozhi Ramakurup  Performing first time out side India accompanied 125 percussionists, which can also be called as ‘kodiyettapanchari’ part of the event.

Pachavadhyam: The rhythmic magic of Kunissery Aniyan Marar leading the Panchavadyam accompanied by over 35 artists.  A traditional orchestra comprising five instruments – kombu, edakka, thimila, ilathalam, and madhalam – will recreate the true spirit of Thrissur Pooram Madathil Varavu Panchavadyam 

Ilanjithara Melam (Pandi Melam): led by over 125 percussionists under the guidance of Melam Kulapathi Padmasree Peruvanam Kuttan Marar, the powerful “Melam Symphony” of this timeless Pandi Melam will recreate the true spirit of Thrissur Pooram festivities.

Nadaswaram: The soothing sound of Thavil drums and the Ottu Drone instrument, is performed by Chelakkara Brothers, one of Kerala’s top wind instrument artists.

Kavadiyattam: Experience the dance performances accompanied by the beats of Nada swaram

Singari Melam: Explore the significant form of Chenda melam performed by a group during cultural festivals in Kerala.

Nadaswaram & Shinkarimelam Fusion : Experience the fusion for first time in UAE Bhommakal – 5 plus Celebrity Mascots which are trending in Kerala for the  first time ever in UAE

6 Real-sized replicas of Elephants: This year, we make the event even grander with 6 robotic elephant replicas resembling Thechikkottu Ramachandran and Paambady Rajan.
