The 29th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) is set to kick off tomorrow with a dazzling start. Spanning 38 days until January 14, the festival will turn Dubai into a vibrant canvas of lights, showcasing the third edition of Dubai Lights. This includes captivating drone shows and light art installations.
Emarat Petroleum presents a free Dubai Lights DSF Drone Show, featuring a synchronized story using cutting-edge drone technology. The spectacle will unfold at The Beach, JBR, and Bluewaters at 8 pm and 10 pm, with two all-new displays each night. A total of 800 drones will take flight, painting the sky with a symphony of colors and shapes, creating unforgettable stories.
In collaboration with animator Mohammed Saeed Harib, the show incorporates Emirati culture into its narrative. The first theme combines fairytales with local traditions, revolving around the significance of the pearl in Dubai. The second theme propels viewers into the future of Dubai through the tale of an Emirati space explorer, showcasing the city’s aspirations and commitment to innovation.
Dubai Lights will feature unique works representing creativity and artistic expression, including the inflatable duo TheAnooki, lighting up various locations for the first time. Modesh and Dana’s giant inflatables will illuminate City Centre Mirdif, while Amazon Wonder at West Beach brings the world’s largest tropical rainforest to life with life-sized installations.
Dubai Neon will transform the creek with 40 light-festooned Abras, and Al Seef neighborhood and Old Gold Souk will come alive with neon writings, creating vibrant and Instagrammable spots. The festival promises a spectacular blend of technology, culture, and creativity for a memorable experience.
