Dubai is redefining how residents view shopping malls with the launch of the ‘Dubai Mallathon’ – a new fitness initiative introduced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. Throughout August, several malls across the city will transform into indoor walking and running tracks during morning hours, encouraging the community to stay active in a safe and comfortable environment.
Announcing the program on his official X account, Sheikh Hamdan said:
“Today, we launched the ‘Dubai Mallathon’ – an initiative that transforms shopping malls across the city into indoor fitness tracks, encouraging the Dubai community to stay active comfortably and safely during morning hours throughout August. Aligned with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, the initiative places health and wellbeing at the core of daily life.”
He emphasized that the idea is simple yet powerful — turning familiar, everyday spaces into fitness-friendly venues to promote an active lifestyle.
Participating Malls:
The Mallathon will feature dedicated tracks in seven major shopping destinations, including:
- Dubai Mall
- Dubai Hills Mall
- Springs Souk
- City Centre Deira
- City Centre Mirdif

This forward-thinking initiative underlines Dubai’s focus on promoting wellness and healthy living by creating innovative ways for residents to incorporate fitness into their daily routines.
