Travel between Dubai and Sharjah has been revolutionized with the introduction of new high-speed intercity bus services that reduce commute times to just 12 minutes. This improvement, announced by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in partnership with Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority, is set to drive a surge in business travel across the two emirates.
The new bus services operate on dedicated lanes, allowing commuters to bypass heavy traffic that typically plagues this route. This development not only cuts down travel time significantly but also enhances the daily commuting experience for frequent passengers.
Two major routes will resume service starting Sunday:
- Route E306: This service begins at Al Ghubaiba Bus Depot in Dubai and terminates at Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah, passing through Al Mamzar. Buses will run every 20 minutes, with six double-decker buses allocated to ensure ample seating and comfort.
- Route E307: This route operates from Deira City Centre Bus Station in Dubai to Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah, following Al Ittihad Road. It will also run every 20 minutes, using six double-decker buses to accommodate up to 1,500 daily commuters.
In addition, the RTA will reroute two other intercity services—Routes E307A and E400—through Al Mamzar to further ease congestion on Al Ittihad Road and enhance the efficiency of travel between the two cities.
These changes underscore the commitment of Dubai and Sharjah’s transport authorities to improving public transportation and offering faster, more reliable travel options. By reducing commute times and providing frequent, spacious buses, these new services are expected to benefit thousands of daily commuters while boosting business travel across the emirates.
