Dubai Metro marks its 15th anniversary with a series of special events, exclusive items, and discounts for residents and visitors alike. Since its inaugural journey on September 9, 2009 (09/09/09), the driverless train has become a symbol of the city’s innovative public transport system.
Under the theme “15 Years on Track,” the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is rolling out a variety of entertainment activities, surprises, and initiatives to commemorate this milestone.
From September 21 to September 27, Metro stations will feature live performances by Emirati and international musicians as part of the 4th Dubai Metro Music Festival, organized by Brand Dubai.
Limited-Edition Collectibles:
Emirates Post will issue special edition postage stamps.
A unique Nol card featuring a design by Lego Middle East and the 15th anniversary campaign logo will be available.
Al Jaber Gallery will offer Metro-themed souvenirs.
Legoland Dubai Celebration:
On September 21, 2024, Legoland Dubai will host a celebration for “Metro babies” – children born on September 9, between 2009 and 2023. Registration is required through the RTA website.
Exclusive Ice Cream:
A limited-edition Metro-shaped Igloo ice cream will be sold, with 5,000 sticks containing a special code redeemable for one of 5,000 Nol Terhaal discount cards.
