Are you facing challenges with your residency visa or Emirates ID renewal due to missing or unclear documents? The good news is that you don’t have to physically visit an Amer center in Dubai to address these issues. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has introduced the Virtual Amer Service, showcased at Gitex Global 2023. This service allows individuals to complete the necessary processes through video conferencing, eliminating the need for in-person visits.
A GDRFA official explained that the Virtual Amer Service enables applicants to connect with a real officer in real time to resolve any pending transactions caused by missing or unclear documents. This service isn’t managed by a chatbot but by a live person, ensuring a more effective interaction.
The process is straightforward: Applicants can access the virtual service remotely, and the officer will review the missing or unclear documents. If necessary, the applicant can attach the required documents in the chat box to finalize the transaction. This process saves applicants time and effort, making the entire procedure more convenient.
The Virtual Amer Service is applicable for various visa types, including residency, student, visit, golden, and green visas. It is particularly useful for applicants who experience processing delays due to missing or unclear documentation.
In the initial phase of the service’s introduction in the first quarter of 2023, the GDRFA-Dubai processed 250,000 transactions. While the Virtual Amer Service is currently available on weekdays from 7 am to 7 pm, there are plans to extend its availability to 24/7.
In addition to the Virtual Amer Service, customers can reach out to the Amer call center using the toll-free number 8005111, which is accessible around the clock.
