UAE residents can now obtain their Emirates ID within 24 hours through an urgent service provided by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) called ‘Fawri’. This service is available for all age groups of UAE nationals and GCC nationals officially residing in the UAE, for various purposes such as new applications, renewals, and replacements. However, expatriate residents who are not GCC nationals can only avail of the urgent service for identity card replacements, as their issuance or renewal is subject to proof of residency and related procedures.
To obtain their Emirates ID under the Fawri service, residents can visit any of the Customer Happiness Centres listed on the ICP website without prior notice, and present the required documents. They will need to pay the regular fees plus an additional urgent service fee to receive their Emirates ID within 24 hours.

The implementation of the Fawri service is a much-needed development for UAE residents who require their Emirates ID card urgently, especially in situations where their card has been lost, stolen, or damaged. This initiative is expected to save them time and effort, as well as the inconvenience of waiting for an extended period to receive their Emirates ID card.
