Air India and flydubai Expand Connecting Travel Options
The Air India flydubai partnership is expanding travel options through Dubai, with passengers now able to connect across the two airlines’ networks using a single itinerary. The agreement links flydubai’s Dubai network with Air India’s services through Delhi and Mumbai, opening up easier connections to destinations across India, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia.
69 Air India destinations available to flydubai passengers
Under the new agreement, flydubai passengers can access 69 destinations on Air India’s network through Delhi and Mumbai.
The expanded connectivity includes Indian cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh, Goa, Jaipur, Pune and Varanasi.
Travellers can also connect onwards to international destinations served by Air India, including Bali, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur, Mauritius, Melbourne, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.
This gives passengers departing from Dubai more combinations when travelling to destinations that may not be served directly by flydubai.
Air India passengers get 52 more connections via Dubai
The partnership works in both directions. Air India passengers can connect through Dubai to an additional 52 destinations served by flydubai.
The destinations include 23 in Europe, 21 in the Middle East, six in Africa and two in the CIS region.
Dubai therefore becomes an important connecting point between the two networks, particularly for passengers travelling between India and destinations across flydubai’s growing regional and international network.
One ticket with baggage checked through
A major benefit for passengers is the ability to book eligible connecting journeys involving both airlines on a single ticket.
Baggage can also be checked through to the final destination, reducing the inconvenience that can come with booking separate flights and collecting and re-checking luggage during a connection.
The agreement is an interline partnership and does not mean the airlines are launching new direct routes as part of the deal. Instead, it allows passengers to combine existing Air India and flydubai flights more conveniently.
More options for Dubai travellers
For travellers starting their journey in Dubai, the partnership provides another way to reach cities across India and destinations further afield.
A passenger could, for example, travel from Dubai and use Delhi or Mumbai as a connecting point for another Air India destination. The airline’s international network also provides onward options across Asia and Australia.
Passengers travelling to Dubai with Air India can similarly use the emirate as a gateway to destinations on flydubai’s network.
272 weekly India-UAE flights planned for winter
The partnership comes as Air India and Air India Express prepare for the winter travel season.
Together, the two airlines are expected to operate 272 weekly flights between India and the UAE during the winter schedule, subject to individual route frequencies.
Air India is expected to operate 54 of these weekly flights, with the remaining services operated by Air India Express.
The winter schedule runs from October 26 until the end of March.
flydubai grows its partnership network
flydubai has continued to extend its global reach through agreements with other airlines.
With the addition of Air India and Uzbekistan Airways, flydubai now has interline partnerships with 46 airlines, providing combined connectivity to more than 300 destinations worldwide.
For Dubai passengers, the Air India-flydubai agreement means more ways to put together connecting journeys while keeping flights under a single itinerary — particularly when travelling to India or connecting onwards to destinations across Air India’s wider network.
