VIP Classical – Austria 2024 ft. Johanna Pichlmair


Dubai is set to host a classical music concert featuring the renowned Austrian violinist Johanna Pichlmair, who will perform in a duo recital with the distinguished German pianist Mia Huang. This event is part of the VIP Classical initiative organized by SAMIT Event Group, under the auspices of the Austrian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates.

Johanna Pichlmair boasts an impressive array of accolades, including victories at the Ibolyka Gyarfas Competition in Berlin, the Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna, and the “Pacem in Terris” in Bayreuth. She has also secured top prizes at the German Music Competition, the Queen Sophie Charlotte Violin Competition, and the International Lake Constance Music Competition. Notably, she received the first prize at the Ysaye International Music Competition in Liège, and second prizes at the Peter-Pirazzi Competition in Frankfurt, the International Max Rostal Violin Competition in Berlin, and the Montreal International Violin Competition, where she also received two special prizes.

Pichlmair’s performance history includes solo appearances and recitals across Europe, Canada, and the United States, and she has been featured at major festivals such as the Lucerne Festival and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival. She has also performed as a soloist with several prestigious orchestras, including the Munich Radio Orchestra and the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra. Since March 2020, she has been a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker’s first violin section.

Mia Huang, her recital partner, is equally celebrated, having garnered numerous international awards including first prizes at the German Music Competition and the Newport International Competition for Young Pianists in Wales. Huang has also claimed prizes at other prestigious competitions, including the Hong Kong International Piano Competition, the Cleveland International Piano Competition, and the Hilton Head International Piano Competition.

This concert promises to be a high-caliber event, showcasing two of classical music’s finest talents in a unique and elegant setting.
