Dubai Metro Permits Faster Nol Card Recharges via Digital Payments

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has recently completed upgrades to Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) across Dubai Metro stations, allowing riders to recharge their Nol cards using digital payment methods.

Out of 262 TVMs, 165 have been upgraded, reducing transaction times by 40%. These machines now accept both banknotes and coins, providing change in either paper or coin currency. According to Hassan Al Mutawa, Director of Rail Operations at RTA, the renovated TVMs boast a sleek design and vibrant colors for easy identification.

This initiative aligns with RTA’s vision of providing seamless and sustainable mobility, aiming to enhance customer satisfaction by streamlining processes and adopting innovative approaches. By encouraging digital payments, RTA seeks to reduce the logistical burden associated with cash handling and increase the proportion of Nol users utilizing digital methods. The Dubai Metro, as a cornerstone of convenient and sustainable transportation, reflects RTA’s commitment to catering to the evolving needs of its diverse passengers.
