Africa Fest UAE is returning to Dubai on Friday October 26. You can take a trip around the continent without leaving the city – with live music and entertainment, fashion and shopping, art and culture and plenty of food stalls celebrating the best of African cuisine.
The event kicks off at 3pm on Friday, October 26 at Emirates Golf Club.
It’s perfect for families as kids can have their faces painted, participate in African drumming lessons, paint, play on a bouncy castle and many more other activities – it’s also free for kids under 12.
The festival, in partnership with Kiza Dubai, will also see musicians from across the continent play – including Congolese artist BM, South African afro-pop band Freshlyground, African drumming troupe Dubafrique and a line-up of the UAE’s best African DJs, including DJ Amzin, DJ Charl Chaka, DJ Mneddy, DJ FantaFire.
Models will also take to a catwalk to showcase the exclusive collections from designers Marie Hosatte and Thaimi O’Reilly, followed by African emerging designers Ndo Magumise, Hind Tahiri, Eliane Sarr and Dennis Osadebe.
And in celebration of the Year of Zayed, the Founding Father of the UAE, and Nelson Mandela, former president of South Africa and Nobel Peace Prize winner, the festival is themed to celebrate these two inspiring legends.
In partnership with the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, visitors will get a chance to learn and experience the UAE culture, and also witness a live speed-paint session by Zambian-born artist Victor Sitali, who will paint artworks featuring the two legendary figures as visitors watch.
